Mui Ne Beach
Mui Ne is a coastal resort town in the Bình Thuận Province of the Southeast region of Vietnam. The town is close to the city of Phan Thiết. Mui Ne has many resorts on the beach, as well as restaurants, bars and cafes.
Set on a seductive swathe of sand, Mui Ne is an absolute charmer with swaying palms and towering dunes. Get pummelled on the beach by a masseur or pummelled by the waves with some water sports – this place blends action and inertia to perfection. Beach sand tends to migrate up and down the coast seasonally, leaving some spots with just a concrete breakwater rather than sandy beach. It is a 16-kilomettre stretch of soft-white sand, turquoise water and endless sunshine. Gracefully shaded with coconut palms, Mui Ne Beach describes the ideal beach in imagination of many people. Indochina travel Vietnam
Mui Ne is a tropical beach with wonderfully warm weather, which is ideal for swimming. However, since the area from the central stretch to the northern end is dominated by fishing industry, the southern part is more suitable for swimming. Twenty years of development has transformed the once sleepy fishing town into one of Vietnam’s top tourist destinations and it stands as a mellow alternative to the lively party scene in Nha Trang.
Mui Ne is all about the beach and the semi-fine grain sand is well suited for swimming and other water sports. The bay is a popular destination for wind and kite surfers due to consistent onshore winds throughout the year and strong sea breezes. Days from November to March have clear skies with perfectly strong winds from 11 am until late evening. The rock-free water makes it relatively safe for the kite surfers. There are also some Kite Surfing Schools where kitesurfing starters are helped to launch the kite by beach boys. Mui Ne is the adrenalin capital of southern Vietnam. There is no scuba diving or snorkelling to speak of, but when Nha Trang and Hoi An get the rains, Mui Ne gets the waves. For windsurfers, the gales blow as well when swells can stir things up big-time. Tours in Vietnam
Obviously, lots of beautiful spots in Mui Ne attract domestic as well as international tourists, such as Ca Na Beach, which takes a 2-hour drive from Mui Ne and provides probably the best coral reefs and diving opportunity in Vietnam, Fairy Springs – a stream where people can sightsee the local wildlife (birds, crabs, fish, frogs, many exotic flowers, etc.), Fish Sauce Plants where famous Phan Thiet fish sauce is produced and sold all over Vietnam.
The beach retains much of its charm and the resorts are, for the most part, mercifully low-rise, set amid pretty gardens by the sea. The original fishing village is still here, but tourists outnumber locals these days.
When one talks about Vietnam’s tourist attractions, it is deficient if they do not mention Mui Ne as one of the most beautiful beach destinations of Vietnam.
