Wat Chalong temple is the most beautiful temple of Phuket islands. Located in Mueang district of Phuket, the temple lies 8km far from the town. You can depart from Central Festival shopping mall, go along the Chao Fah Nok Rd road or Chalong Circle road to the Chalong Temple.
The Temple was built under the era of King Rama II. Wat Chalong is the place to worship two venerable monks, Luang Set Chaem and Luang Chuang, who helped the victims affected by the herbicide, and contributed to end of the violence of tin miners in 1876. Thailand travel tours
Wat Chalong temple has typical architecture of the temples in Thailand. The main building of the temple has 3 floors decorated with wall paintings describing the life story of the Buddha and also displayed by many different images of the Buddha. Behind the Wat Chalong temple, you will find a few shops where you can choose favorite souvenirs. A number of stores also sell non-alcoholic drinks and fresh coconut.
The temple is open from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm everyday. Like other Buddhist temples, you should wear polite clothes when entering the temple. Shoes are not allowed inside to make the temple clean. Also, you are only allowed to speak in silence and do not touch the statues and other Buddhist relics.
