Walk through O Quan Chuong, one of the original gates to the Old Quarter dating back to the 13th century. Visit the neo-Gothic St. Joseph Cathedral, built by the French in 1886, and admire the magnificent Hanoi Opera House, modeled after the Palais Garnier in Paris.
Continue to Hoan Kiem Lake (Sword Lake), the heart of the city where locals gather to exercise, socialize, and play chess.
Here, you’ll attend a traditional water puppet show, a uniquely Vietnamese art form dating back to the 11th century, where puppeteers stand waist-deep in water to manipulate their characters, accompanied by live traditional music.
Your tour concludes with a cyclo ride through the bustling streets of the Old Quarter, offering a unique perspective of local life amid French colonial buildings and narrow shop houses.
