DAY 01: HANOI ARRIVAL

Your guide meets you at the airport and transfers you to your hotel in the Old Quarter.

As evening arrives, dive straight into Hanoi’s culinary scene with a street food tour. DAY 02: HANOI HALF DAY CITY TOUR & WALKING TOUR

Embark on a comprehensive tour of Hanoi’s most captivating attractions, diving deep into the city’s rich culture and history.

Begin at the Ho Chi Minh Complex, home to the Presidential Palace, One Pillar Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, and his humble stilt house. Next, visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first national university founded in the 11th century. DAY 03: HANOI FREE DAY

Your day is completely free to explore at your own pace. Consider visiting the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, shopping for silk and lacquerware, enjoying egg coffee at a historic café, or simply wandering neighborhoods you haven’t yet discovered. Your guide can arrange any activities that interest you.

DAY 04: HANOI - HALONG BAY

After breakfast, embark on a 2.5-hour journey to Halong Bay, where you’ll experience this natural Wonder of the World aboard an overnight cruise.

Enjoy lunch while sailing past breathtaking scenery – thousands of limestone karsts rising dramatically from the emerald waters like dragons’ teeth.

In the afternoon, visit an authentic floating fishing village and meet fishermen whose families have lived and worked on these waters for nearly three generations. Learn about their unique culture and daily life.

As evening approaches, sip sunset drinks or join a cooking class on board before enjoying a delicious dinner. After dinner, choose to watch a movie, play board games, indulge in spa treatments, or simply relax before bed.

DAY 05: HALONG BAY - HANOI – TRAIN TO LAO CAI

Wake for sunrise over the bay. After breakfast, continue cruising before returning to port by late morning.

Drive back to Hanoi where you have the afternoon free until your evening train departure. The overnight train to Lao Cai departs around 9-10 PM, offering a comfortable sleeper cabin for the journey north into the mountains.

DAY 06: LAO CAI – SAPA/LAO CHAI – TA VAN

Arrive in Lao Cai early morning and drive to Sapa, a mountain town sitting at 1,600 meters elevation. After breakfast and freshening up, begin your trek through terraced rice fields descending into the Muong Hoa Valley.

Walk to Lao Chai village, home to the Black H’mong people, then continue to Ta Van where the Giay ethnic group lives. Your guide explains local customs, farming methods, and daily life in these mountain communities. The scenery is spectacular with endless rice terraces carved into hillsides, water buffalo grazing, and mountain peaks rising in the distance.

DAY 07: SAPA/MATRA – TA PHIN – TRAIN TO HANOI

Have some free time to explore Sapa town after breakfast at your accommodation. Then, check out of your accommodation around lunchtime, and ride a 5-kilometer ride to Sapa’s northeastern region.

Take a car away from this location to reach the H’mong settlement of Ma Tra Village. Immerse yourself in the authentic rural life of the local ethnic communities and experience the tranquility of this picturesque village.

Start a journey through the mountain after this town to get to Ta Phin village. The Red Dzao and the Black Hmong live here in a cooperative traditional craft community.

Following is the Ta Phin Town is encircled by stunning mountains with the scenery is breathtaking. Ta Phin Village is renowned for its traditional handicrafts, such as weaving, embroidery, and batik dyeing and they often showcase their techniques to visitors.

Back on the main road, your car will be ready to transport you to Lao Cai so you can board the overnight train to Hanoi. We’ll continue to train overnight travel.

DAY 08: HANOI – FLY TO HUE

Arrive in Hanoi early morning. Freshen up at a hotel day room before transferring to the airport for your flight to Hue, Vietnam’s former imperial capital.

Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to settle in and explore at your leisure.

DAY 09: HUE CITY TOUR

Today is a Hue city tour to explore the excellent history of Vietnam through famous attractions in Hue.

After breakfast at the hotel, we meet up with our local guide once more to begin our day-long exploration of Hue’s ancient Imperial City, which is home to numerous exquisite royal structures.

In the afternoon, board a dragon boat for a cruise along the Perfume River. Stop at Thien Mu Pagoda, Hue’s iconic seven-tiered pagoda overlooking the river, then visit elaborate royal tombs. Each emperor designed his own mausoleum ome grand and imposing, others serene and contemplative, all reflecting the ruler’s personality and philosophy.

After a long day, you’ll have free time to explore the tranquil Hue by night and we’ll stay the night in here.

DAY 10: HUE - DA NANG – HOI AN

Drive south along one of Vietnam’s most scenic routes. Cross the Hai Van Pass where mountains plunge into the sea, offering panoramic views of the coastline. Stop at Lang Co Beach and pass through Da Nang before arriving in Hoi An.

We go on a walking tour of the Old Quarter in the afternoon to see the Chinese Embassy Halls and the Japanese Covered Bridge. One represents the Chinese influence on the town, while the other is a symbol of the historical connection between Japan and Vietnam.

Following this afternoon’s sightseeing is Tan Ky House – a beautifully preserved 18th-century merchant’s house that showcases the architectural fusion of Vietnamese.

Then we’ll continue to visit the Phuc Kien Pagoda – a stunning Chinese-style pagoda known for its intricate wood carvings and vibrant decorations.

The early evening will be free time for leisure activities or shopping. Don’t miss a chance to witness the romantic Hoi An by night with colorful lanterns.

DAY 11: HOI AN FREE DAY

Your day is completely free to choose your own adventure:

Option 1: Tra Que Village Cycling & Cooking Class – Cycle through rice paddies to Tra Que vegetable village. Learn about organic farming methods, then join a cooking class where you’ll prepare traditional dishes and enjoy your creations for lunch.

Option 2: My Son Sanctuary – Visit this UNESCO World Heritage site, a complex of Hindu temples built by the Champa civilization between the 4th and 14th centuries. The red brick towers sit in a jungle valley, offering insight into Vietnam’s pre-Vietnamese history.

Option 3: An Bang Beach Relaxation – Spend the day at An Bang Beach swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying beachside cafés and restaurants.

Or simply wander Hoi An’s streets, shop for custom tailoring, explore the market, or relax by your hotel pool.

DAY 12: HOI AN – DRIVE TO DA NANG – FLY TO HO CHI MINH CITY

Our driver will pick you up at the hotel this morning and take you to the airport in time for the early departure to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). When you arrive, our driver and guide will greet you and take you to the city center to check into your hotel.

We begin our half-day city trip in Ho Chi Minh City in the late afternoon with signature famous attractions just a few highlights:

  • The Old Post Office: Stunning colonial-era building in Ho Chi Minh City with shops and cafes.
  • Notre Dame Cathedral: Iconic landmark in Ho Chi Minh City with a striking red brick facade and beautiful stained glass windows.
  • Independence Hall: Historical site in Ho Chi Minh City with significance in Vietnam’s history, especially during the Vietnam War.
  • War Remnants Museum: Somber museum in Ho Chi Minh City showcasing the impact of the Vietnam War through photographs and exhibits.
  • Ben Thanh Market: Busy marketplace in Ho Chi Minh City for shopping, street food, and a lively atmosphere.

DAY 13: HO CHI MINH CITY FREE DAY

Your day is completely free to explore Saigon:

Option 1: HCM Jeep Tour

Experience the city from a vintage military jeep, navigating through different districts and learning about Saigon’s history, from French colonial times through the war years to its modern transformation.

Option 2: Mekong Delta Day Trip

After breakfast, we ride in comfort to the southern part of Saigon to the charm of the Mekong Delta region. You’ll have fantastic experiences with off-the-beaten-path life of amiable Mekong farmers and fishermen:

  • Walk through their verdant orchards and sample a variety of in-season tropical fruits
  • Take a modest sampan trip along the winding canals
  • Savor the delectable Mekong cuisine that these friendly natives provide.

We’ll take a transfer back to Saigon after a full of activities in the Mekong region and have a free night to explore vibrant Ho Chi Minh City by night.

DAY 14: HO CHI MINH DEPARTURE
