Day 02: Siem Reap – Angkor Complex – Dinner with Apsara Dance Show

Breakfast at your hotel. After that, the sightseeing tour of Angkor area we spend a full day exploring the wondrous ancient ruins with the South Gate of Angkor Thom, which is famous for its series of colossal human faces carved in stone, the impressive Bayon Temple, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and the largest as well as the most complete temple of Angkor Wat. This architectural masterpiece was constructed in the 12th century and covers an area of about 210 hectares. We stroll around this massive edifice, seeing the many galleries with Colums, libraries, pavilions, courtyards and ponds full of water reflecting the towering temple. Day 03: Siem Reap – Banteay Srei – Ta Prohm

Early morning, we will visit the sunrise at Angkor Area – the idea is to view the reflection of amazing Angkor temple in the morning sun. Return to the hotel for breakfast. After that, heading out of town we make our way by traveling on a newly paved road to the intricately carved and well preserved temple of Banteay Srei. Along the way we make stopover at the Preah Dark village and we follow these with a visit the Banteay Samre Temple adorned with impressive relief’s depicting scenes of Vishunu as well as Krishna legends. Afternoon, visit The jungle covered temple of Ta Prohm (where Jolina Joli filmed The Tomb Raiders) is an incredible sight. There are enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers which embrace themselves in the stone foundations of the structure giving the impression of man’s creation being reclaimed by the powerful forces of nature.

Day 04: Siem Reap – Tonle Sap Lake – Flight to Bangkok

Breakfast at the hotel – Drive 18km toward Tonle sap where we will enjoy a boat ride (private boat and guide) on the Tonle Sap lake. This is the largest permanent fresh-water lake in South East Asia and flows into Tonle Sap River, joining the Mekong in Phnom Penh. We will see a fishermen’s “floating village” with floatting schools, floatting police station, etc. It is same as a big village floatting on the lake, and the “village” move from place to place following water levels and curant. Transfer to the airport for the flight to Bangkok, Thailand.
Upon arrival Bangkok, our guide greet you at airport and transfer you to hotel. Rest at leisure, overnight in Bangkok.

Day 05: Bangkok City Tour

Breakfast at your hotel. Discover Bangkok in style with your own expert guide and private car to calmly find your way from highlight to highlight. By boat you explore Chao Phraya River and the lesser known canals and slide through these quite, green places where local families still live like in the past. That feeling continues in Wat Arun, ‘the Temple of Dawn’ which you can climb to have a great, welcoming view across the Chao Praya River and the Grand Palace on the other, enter the always bustling Wat Po; home to the 45 meter long Reclining Buddha and the perfect place to make your offering for your wish to be granted. Continue to the Grand Palace, Thailand‟s most important landmark, where you will be awed by the grandeur and majesty of the building and its throne halls. Marvel at the sea of flowers on the orchid market where house wives come pick the best flower to put on their family-alter at home. After that, explore the lanes and stalls of China Town, full of smells and colors, traditional products and Chinese temples. Back to your hotel after tour and rest at leisure. Overnight in Bangkok

Bangkok city tour

Day 06: Bangkok – Floating Market – Ayutthaya

Breakfast at your hotel. By boat we navigate narrow canals and enter the floating market of Damnoen Saduak, where old ladies sell noodle soup, pomelo, rambutan and other colorful fruit and of course souvenirs from their little wooden boats. Take a moment to step behind the souvenirs stalls to discover wooden houses and bridges still lining the waterways from the past. Head to the former Siam Capital City. Unesco declared the ruins of temples and surrounding structures a world heritage site. Wat Chai Wattanaram is particularly beautiful and was built in the same style as the famous temples in Angkor, Cambodia. Your guide transforms the ruins into their former glory while explaining what happened when the Burmese army sacked and destroyed the place, taking away all the gold once covering the temples to Burma. In the evening, we browse night market in Ayutthaya.

Day 07: Ayutthaya – Bangkok – Flight to Chiang Mai

Breakfast at your hotel. You will wander between much more recent palaces in Bang Pa In, an eclectic collection of royal homes in a manicured park on the bank of Chao Praya river before flying to Chiang Mai

Day 08: Elephant Owner For A Day: Morning Session – Monk Chat

7:45: Patara Elephant Farm invites you to hands-on experience on participating, sharing responsibilities and taking care of an elephant. “Elephant Owner for a Day” is a special program created for everyone to learn and interact with elephants as what an owner would do daily, during which time you are trained to approach your elephant correctly, know the elephant’s temperament, feed and check its health, learn about and take care of your own elephant, bathe and brush it in the river, learn how to ride on its neck, and communicate through different spoken commands. You will get a chance to bare-back riding to visit forest, waterfalls or local temples. The program is specialized and meaningful activity to create trust and relationship between you and your elephant. Monks robed in orange are abundant in the north and especially around the many temples of Chiang Mai. But how does that work, who are they, what do they do and why? Asked your million questions yourself, personally or via translations from your guide and get to know the real answers to your questions. You will travel to one of the local temples, take off your shoes and sit down with one of the resident monks. These are normal people like us, with families often, and a mobile phone. Ask all you want, about Buddhism, local life or whatever is on your mind. Once satisfied spiritually you will explore Ton Payom local market and test varieties of the traditional, local food; anything you want!

Elephant Owner for a Day

Day 09: Doi Suthep & City Tour – Flight to Krabi

Breakfast at your hotel. Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep is the most important and famous temple in Chiang Mai. The tour begins with a pleasant wildly driving up 3,500 feet above sea level to the sacred temple of Doi Suthep. You then ascend up the 306 steps to the temple gateway which guarded by two splendid Nagas (serpents). Walk around the grounds of Doi Suthep past golden pillars, six foot gongs and rows of bells. A five tiered parasols made of gold sat on display in the inner courtyard. Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep was built in 1383, is the symbol of Chiang Mai. It is the most sacred temple in the city and contains the holy relic of the Lord Buddha which is enshrined in the magnificent golden pagoda that can be seen for miles around. A panoramic view of the city and the surrounding countryside can be seen from the temple grounds. In the center of the city lies Wat Phra Singh first built during the reign of Phra Chao Kham Fu (1328-1335).
The temple’s compound includes the Lai Kam Chapel and the abbot of this important temple is the head of the local religious administration. Lying smack in the heart of the city (almost right in the middle of the square-walled city) is Wat Chedi Luang, the large Chedi (the biggest in the city) behind the viharn was constructed by King Saen Muang Ma around 1401. Originally 90 meters high, it is now a mere 40 meters as the result of an earthquake in 1545. A small building near the main entrance encloses the ‚Sao Intakin‛ (spirit of the city). Last but not least is Wat Chiang Man, lying in the Northern part of the old walled city; it is the oldest temple within the city walls. Constructed by King Mengrai (1296-1311) the founder of Chiangmai, it is said that the king spent his last years in this temple. Drive around the old city to see the moat surrounding it and the ruins of the city gates. Then visit the largest central market, Worarot Market, alive with its daily hustle and bustle. Exotic fresh fruits, preserved food, local delicacies, clothes galore, flowers and other nick knacks, all at reasonable prices.
