Arrive in Luang Prabang


After breakfast you will embark on a cruise up the Mekong River to Pak Ou Caves. Locally referred to as Tam Ting, these two caves are carved out of towering limestone cliffs and contain thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues. Lunch is served in a local restaurant. Afternoon, you will be driven through Luang Prabang countryside to Kuang Si Waterfalls (32km southwest of the city). Upon reaching Kuang Si Waterfall, relax and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings. Visit the bear sanctuary which is next to the falls, run by Free The Bears Fund Inc. Back in town, climb up to top of Mount Phousi and enjoy the sunset over the town. Overnight is in Luang Prabang.

embark on a cruise up the Mekong River to Pak Ou Caves


You will be picked up at your hotel in Luang Prabang at 9:00 am by your guide and then proceed to the local morning Phosy Market where you can see the locals getting their daily supplies. Then bike to visit the National Museum, the important Wat Mai from 1796 which emphasizes the graceful Luang Prabang architecture, and the glamorous Wat Xieng Thong on the end of the peninsula. Learn more about the interesting Lao history and the kingdoms which inherited this place in former times. Later continue your ride to the Ock Pop Tock, a non-profit organization that seeks to preserve traditional weaving techniques. We will spend some time learning about the process of silk weaving from the initial stages of creating the dyes to the final process of loom weaving. From here take a short ride to the Elephant Village, an outdoor facility focused on elephant preservation. You will have some times to try elephant riding – those are natural well-trained elephants with calm personality. Around noon enjoy some free time for lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will proceed to visit the ancient Wat Visoun dated back to the 16th century. Another highlight of this tour is the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Center where you learn many things about today’s ethnic diversity in Laos. Overnight is in Luang Prabang.

Day 3 Luang Prabang


Have breakfast and enjoy your free time until when our driver will come pick you up to the airport for your flight to Hanoi – connecting flight to Danang.

Upon your arrival in Danang airport, our driver is ready to pick you up and transfer your hotel in Hoi An. Take a rest and stay overnight is in Hoi An.

After breakfast, you take the half day to My Son – the sanctuary of Cham culture. You will walk in the ruins of ancient My Son holy land to recall the Champa people’s glory days dating from the 4th to the 13th century. Back to town by mid-day, get ready for the walking tour to visit Hoi An Old Streets though the picturesque streets of this 16th century trading port, where the buildings remind us of its Chinese, Japanese, French and Vietnamese architectural styles; Visit the Chinese Embassy Halls, Japanese Covered Bridge, Phuc Kien Pagoda & Tan Ky House. Rest of day, you are free at your leisure. Overnight in Hoi An.

Breakfast at your hotel. Free time today to relax. You will have free time for shopping or take a ride to Cua Dai beach for a full day relaxation. The beach boasts fine white sand, clear and blue water, moderate slopes and small waves, which make it ideal for recreational activities like swimming and other sea sports. There are so many things to do in Hoi An (lantern making class, farming & fishing, cycling trip…) or just chill relaxing – easily spend days in this lovely town. Overnight in Hoi An.

An Bang beach


We start the day (8 am) with a welcome drink at Hai Café (98 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Hoi An Ancient Town) – our meeting point.
Travel by minivan (10 minutes) to Tra Que Organic Village, and walk through the market gardens where local farmers work their fields using the traditional methods of hundreds of years ago – no electrical machinery here. We pick fresh saw-tooth coriander and Vietnamese mint for our cooking lesson later, before trying a special herbal drink at a local home.
To the local village market and with a shopping list in hand we purchase a range of local ingredients, including star anise, cardamom, sesame rice paper, water spinach, and banana flower.
Arriving at Red Bridge Cooking School we have a chance to freshen up before beginning our class. Working together with our Red Bridge Chef we learn the traditional ways of preparing and cooking Vietnamese food from scratch. Using the freshest ingredients and traditional Vietnamese utensils (still in use today) we cook 4 famous dishes, including the national dish ‘Pho’.
After the class, we sit down and a chance to savor the dishes we have prepared. Leisurely cruise (25 minutes) along the Hoi An River back to central Hoi An.
Finish at approximately 2.30pm – transfer back to central Hoi An arriving approximately 3.00pm.
