Where to go in Vientiane at night – Vientiane travel guide

Unlike its neighboring Thailand, the nightlife scene of Vientiane – Laotian capital, which has evolved from a sleepy little Mekong fishing town into a city that seems to have finally found its voice, is more of a low-key affair. There is an ever-growing collection of restaurants which are stunning places to exchange travel tips with a backpacker on the same path as you or spark up a conversation with a chatty stranger.

For families and those who are looking for a fun, alternative night out, the Lao Bowling Center in Vientiane is such a great entertainment option. In the daytime, Lao Bowling Center welcomes locals and travelers of all ages to come to enjoy the pleasant cool environment – a welcome break from Vientiane’s often blistering heat and discounted rates. As the evening progresses, the Beerlao starts to flow and the interesting music is turned up – two key factors which certainly create more of an exciting atmosphere. Be aware that you have to wait for a while if arriving during peak hours (around 22:00) as this center has only 10 lanes.

  1. Spirit House

Spirit House really comes alive in the evening although this delightful little riverside spot is open from as early as 07:00 in the morning. It is the tasteful background music and stylish wooden interior that create that upmarket feeling that is lapped up by the mostly local and expat crowd who do not mind splashing the cash. And the quality is well worth your extra Kip. Spirit House is an exceptionally great place to visit and admire the spectacular sunset over the Mekong whilst sipping a drink from their wide range of international wines, beers and (as the name would suggest) spirits. Throughout the day, every kind of food from burgers to sushi on their impressive menu is served. Laos travel packages
