Few things about Ubein Bridge

Ubein Bridge is located in the suburbs of Mandalay ancient capital in Myanmar linking the two banks of Taungthaman River and approximately 1.2 kilometers. It was built in 1850 and regarded as the oldest and longest wooden bridge around the world. This bridge is also a familiar place for local residents and Buddhists to come here and watch the gloaming.

With the frugal and poetic beauty, Ubein Bridge has been allured hundred thousands of visitors flocking to every year, especially in July and August. There were 1086 pillars that helped the bridge steadily stand on the water. Unfortunately, those pillars had been gradually rotten so the authorities substituted several of them by the concrete pillars for safety.

Enjoy the twilight

The most suitable moment for traveling to Ubein Bridge is at sunset, of course. Every day when the sun is down, the large space around Ubein Bridge and the surrounding scenery is covered by the red glow of the setting sun.  The sunshine pour into the bridge, go through timber stakes and pervade the twinkle light. This scene is probably the most magnificent picture in this beautiful country, Myanmar.

At sunset, the weather here is cool and the most comfortable all day. In addition, the wind seem to fondle everyone, the trees lie down two banks of Taungthaman River, the fresh air which are also create different emotions for tourists when they witness the bewitching beauty here.
