This Vietnam 12-day tour takes you to the most highlight places but also you can experience local life. For more than 10 days in Vietnam, you will travel from the south to the north to see highlights with lovely towns, enjoy stunning natural landscapes, and experience exquisite local cultures.

  • Ho Chi Minh city – the biggest cultural hub in Vietnam with many interesting war remnants. One of them is Cu Chi tunnel -complicated tunnels that were built manually by Vietnamese soldiers

  • My Son – the World Cultural Heritage that captures the glory of the old Champa empire
  • Hue – the last feudal capital of Vietnam where hundreds of aged-old temples, mausoleums, and palaces remain
  • Hanoi – the millennium capital where street food is amazing
  • Halong Bay – its geology of karst limestone and sea is so stunning, making it one of Seven Nature Wonders.

DAY 01: HO CHI MINH ARRIVAL

Upon arrival, our staff will pick you up at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Check in and overnight in Saigon.

DAY 02: CU CHI TUNNEL - HCMC HALF-DAY TOUR

Breakfast in the hotel. We will start the day by visiting Cu Chi Tunnels, a Viet Cong base during the war, and explore the tunnels yourselves to understand more about the Vietnamese and their history. Return to Ho Chi Minh City and have lunch in a local restaurant. Afternoon, visit War Museum with a lot of exhibitions related to the American war, visit the Reunification Palace which was the workplace of the Southern President of Vietnam during the war. Visit Notre Dame Cathedral and the nearby area with the old Post office. End of the day in Ben Thanh Market for shopping.

Overnight in Saigon.

DAY 03: HO CHI MINH – MEKONG DELTA

Our driver and private tour guide will pick you up at 7.30 am at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh to transfer to Cai Be. 

The program will start with a quick visit of Cai Be. We can walk around the orchard and enjoy some fruits when listening to the traditional music at the local garden. Then, the rowing boat will take you deeper into the countryside on smaller canals to enjoy a peaceful time.

Back to our boat to go across one of the longest rivers in the world, Mekong River, to come to An Bình Island. Travel on the handmade canal to Ut Trinh home and have lunch. After lunch, we can walk in the local village to visit the local workshop to see how to make rice paper, coconut candy, pop-rice… Enjoy some sweets with a cup of hot tea. Optional biking can be made for leisure! It will be so amazing to bike on the village paths to see the local daily life: orchard, school, church, pagoda, traditional houses… Visit the brick kilns where you can see how the local people create beautiful potteries from clay. The cruise will end at VinhLong city.

We’ll take a transfer back to Saigon after a full of activities in the Mekong region and have a free night to explore vibrant Ho Chi Minh City by night.

DAY 04: HO CHI MINH – DA NANG – HOI AN

This morning, we transfer to the airport and fly to Da Nang. 

Arrive at Danang Airport, you will be picked up by our driver at the airport and transfer to your hotel in Hoi An. Check in your hotel and get ready for the walking tour to visit Hoi An Old Streets through the picturesque streets of this 16th-century trading port, where the buildings remind us of its Chinese, Japanese, French and Vietnamese architectural styles; visit to the Chinese Embassy Halls, Japanese Covered Bridge, Phuc Kien Pagoda & Tan Ky House. Rest of the day, you are free at your leisure.

DAY 05: HOI AN – MY SON

After breakfast, you take a half-day to My Son – the sanctuary of Cham culture. You will walk in the ruins of ancient My Son holy land to recall the Champa people’s glory days dating from the 4th to the 13th century. 

For the rest of the day, balance your leisure time between relaxing at the beach or happily emptying your wallet while browsing the world of handicrafts and souvenirs that Hoi An has to offer, or simply stroll along the riverside to get a feel for the olden days of the busy Faifo merchant port.

My Son Sanctuary

DAY 06: HOI AN - DA NANG - HUE

Spend the morning for the last shopping before transferring to Hue.

On the way, we stop to visit Ngu Hanh Son (Marble Mountain). Climb Thuy Son (Water) by the stone stairs and enjoy the panoramic view of the nearby countryside and visit Huyen Khong cave before entering Tam Thai and Ling Ung pagodas. Rest at the foot of the mountain, where you can visit Non Nuoc stone village, where the local skilled sculptors create many marble products that are exported to countries worldwide.

Reach Hue in the afternoon, we check in and relax.

DAY 07: HUE CITY TOUR

Breakfast in the hotel and meet up with our local guide again to start a day exploring the charms of The Citadel in this former Imperial City with many well-preserved royal monuments in Hue. Board a dragon boat to cruise the Perfume River and stop at Thien Mu Pagoda to visit one of the most ancient and historic Buddhist places. After lunch served in a local restaurant, continue to visit the most famous Tu Duc’s tomb and Hue’s biggest Dong Ba Market.

DAY 08: HUE - HANOI

This morning, our driver will wait for you at the lobby of your hotel, then transfer you to Hue for a flight to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi, check in, and relax.

DAY 09: HANOI CITY TOUR

The full-day tour takes you around Hanoi’s highlight sites, including the Ho Chi Minh Complex, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh Museum and his stilt house, Presidential Palace, and the One Pillar Pagoda. You also have the chance to visit the historic University – The Temple of Literature, which dates back to the 11th century. Continue to the Ethnology Museum, where you can learn about all ethnic groups in Vietnam.

Back in the Old Quarter, you could choose to walk or have a ride on a cyclo through the narrow streets that were famous for their specialized craft-making guilds, The guild streets were named for their product or location and still bear such names nowadays; and then join in a unique water puppet show that features the Viet folklore and culture.

DAY 10: HANOI – HALONG

After breakfast, we are ready to be picked up for a 3.5-hour drive to Halong Bay at 7.45 am. About 11.30 to 12.00, you are welcomed on board and have a set lunch while cruising in the bay. Depending on which cruise you choose, the detailed itinerary will basically include a visit to Amazing cave, kayaking (an extra option on most of the boats, some boat has kayaking included), or swimming in crystal water and enjoying the beautiful landscapes.

DAY 11: HALONG - HANOI

Wake up on the bay to the sounds of waves, fresh air, and breeze to welcome the new day. After breakfast, visit a beautiful limestone grotto, then walk back to the boat for a final glimpse of Halong Bay while cruising back to the dock. The boat arrives at the harbor by 11.30 am, and your driver is waiting to take you back to Hanoi.

DAY 12: HANOI DEPARTURE

This morning, enjoy a leisurely breakfast; perhaps take a walk to the central lake area or do some last-minute shopping. Be packed and ready for your flight home or onward for a new destination extension.
