Itinerary

This 3-day Pu Luong trip works as a quick escape from Hanoi if you want countryside without traveling far. You’ll stay 2 nights at an eco-lodge in the reserve, do some easy walks through rice terraces, and take a bamboo raft ride.

Most activities are gentle. You’ll walk on flat valley paths (not mountain climbs), visit Thai villages, see the traditional water wheels still used for irrigation, and float down the river on bamboo. Meals are at the lodge or with local families – expect simple Vietnamese food, not tourist menus. It’s quiet here, which some travelers love and others find too remote. Day 01: HANOI - PU LUONG

After breakfast, at 8:00 am, our guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel, then we start our drive to Pu Luong – a “hidden gem” of the North Central region of Vietnam. On the way, you will go through a breathtaking mountain pass, giving you a panoramic view of the whole valley.

After around 4.5 driving hours, you will arrive at your accommodation and have a delicious lunch there.

Trekking to the surrounding villages and back to the accommodation for dinner.

Day 02: PU LUONG SOFT TREK

Today, you will have an early breakfast. Then we start to descend into the beautiful valley where you walk around the tumbling rice terraces. Trek through small paths shrouded in vegetation to slowly reveal a picturesque village sitting at the base of a towering mountain. Your camera will not be able to sit still!

Continuing to the base of the valley, you weave between roads and farmland, villages and wild fields, ponds and rivers, mountains and open land. Savor the ever-changing scenery as you trek to a beautiful spot to enjoy a simple picnic lunch. After enjoying delicious food, you have free time to explore the refreshing water in the nearby river, before moving to our pick-up point to be transferred back to the hotel.

Day 03: PU LUONG - HANOI

This morning, after breakfast, you have the chance to get close to village life and interact with locals living in the hills above the Retreat. A glimpse at daily life, walking around working farmland, rice fields, and learn about making rice wine and weaving colorful textiles, followed by lunch at the Lodge.

At 12:00 pm, you will check out and say goodbye to Pu Luong. Head back to Hanoi. End of services
